Preschool Independence Day Celebration

In Pre-School, students celebrated Mexico’s Independence with different activities on September 14. Many students came dressed in Mexican costumes. Girls with red, white and green dresses with beautiful embroidery and boys dressed like mariachis or with big hats and mustaches. They were welcomed in the morning with Mexican music on the sound system.

In Nursery D, children made tortillas that they ate at lunch. In Pre-Kinder E they organized a party and invited some Moms to come and help students to prepare “tostadas” and lemonade. In Pre-Kinder, D children sat all together at a big table to eat tamales.

Children brought Mexican candy to every classroom and their teachers helped them classify them and share them with their friends. It was an exciting day! You could even hear some children shouting “Viva Mexico!”.
